Hey friends,

This past week hosted Valentine's Day, a day that I think is culturally shifting in meaning as we begin to recognize that there are so many types of love worth celebrating! As I saw it within my online communities, and noted beautifully by Catherine Clary, for many, Valentine's Day is a celebration of not-only romantic love, but self-love and friendship as well!

OUR VALENTINE'S NIGHT OUT

My husband and I had a really beautiful night out together.

For those who might appreciate L.A. dinner/drink tips: we had a delicious dinner at Pine & Crine-- highly recommend if you're looking for fresh, farm to table Chinese/Taiwanese food in LA, and then saw the virtuosic Dylan Meek & Bryan McKnight, Jr. play at Apotheke, a gorgeous new speakeasy-craft cocktail-bar near the LA River/Chinatown, in an evening produced by Adam Carneol with The Burgundy.

This night out reminded me how important it truly is to give our time and undivided attention to the ones we love. I am guilty of too often getting drawn into work, or my own incessant thoughts, and not being present with those around me. This subject, of how we can show love by devoting our consciousness to seeing and listening to those around us, is the subject of two of this week's Sparks!
